Locomotive 3815 has been constructed to the design and drawings by E& J Winter in 5 inch gauge to a scale of 1-1/16 inches to the foot.

Copper construction, 90 PSI operating pressure.
6 -3/4 inch diameter, 32 inches long.
22 fire tubes, 4 superheater flues.
3 safety valves.
Total heating surface 1187 sq. inches.
Rosebud grate area 45.8 sq. inches, 12% air ratio.


WATER FEED:
1 steam injector.
1 steam powered pump. (L.Sheppard design)
1 hand pump.


WHEELS:
Cast iron with steel treads to all loco wheels, cast iron on tender.
Driving wheels fitted with needle roller bearings, leading and trailing trucks with ball races.
Equalized leaf springing on driver wheels.
​Leaf springs on front truck, coils on trailing.


BRAKES:
Steam operated braking on loco and tender.
Steam vacuum ejector for train cars.


CYLINDERS:
Cast iron with c.i. piston rings.
